As long as it was just geeks like myself and Martin who were crowing about storytelling in business, it felt like a bit of a crusade. After all, when you know you are on to something, but it is not being widely discussed (yet), we can feel like a trendsetter… like the cool kids that geeks rarely are.
Well, storytelling in business is not just for us geeks anymore. It’s gone mainstream. I noted a blog post by Sir Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin, where he extolls the virtue of storytelling in business and points to two more stories that he particularly enjoyed.
Alas… when the people promoting your idea are as cool, and as successful, as Richard Branson, it’s time to admit that the idea isn’t “mine” or “yours,” it’s ours.
